This summer, in hopes of earning a nest egg, Oliver and I are running the souvenir stand at Rocky Mountain Raceway (Oliver's Father's Racetrack). Recently racing apparrel, die cast cars, checkered flags, Nascar, NHRA, and everything that has to do with racing merchandise has consumed my spare time. Since the Nascar target market is tricky, I have been doing a lot of researching in hopes that it will help me make better buying decisions. I have learned a lot. For instance, last week I had never heard of Kasey Kahne, let alone that he is the hottest new thing in Nascar, he races car #9, is standing at #36 with 259 points, he races for Dodge, and has already earned $816,097 this year (and the season just started a couple of months ago).
In the past couple of weeks I have noticed that people will buy anything with the nascar logo on it, from Nascar binkies to racecar rhinestone earrings to spectator microphones that say "God Rocks". Although I haven't started articulating my words and vernacular like Ward Burton, I find Nascar and the car racing culture both interesting and hilarious...and with a salary like that-move over Danica Patrick! Shake 'N Bake.

We all want to go this summer with Easton!
Wow! I never thought I would put Carly and Nascar together! Go girl! I want to go this summer too! P.S. I am impressed with your research.
I rather like NASCAR. I have salesmen and customers in Martinsville this weekend--truck race today and the big race tomorrow. I was there last year. Now, that's where merchandise is sold. I'll be they do $1 Million (total) over the weekend, easy. There's money in them there cars!!!
