If I had $1000 extra dollars to spend on a chair...correction: If Oliver would allow me to invest $1000 to restore a chair, I would buy this $50 chair off of Craig's List, stain the wood detail black, and find a good furniture dealer to reupholster it to look like this awesome chair from Shelterrific.

You could go garage sell hunting and find a similar chair for cheap. Is it antique or something? It doesn't look like it is worth a $1000. Maybe you are including fabric.
The Chair is cheap...it is like $50.00. That fabric and reupholstery is what is expensive.
