We're back.

I thought that I would share some pictures from our weekend. It was a quick, spontaneous trip. We left late Friday night and returned Sunday evening. We had so much fun, and can't wait to visit Jackson Hole again. While there this weekend I decided that I could live in Jackson Hole for the rest of my life. I absolutely love it there.

On Saturday morning Oliver asked if I wanted to go on a leisurely stroll, it was such a beautiful day and I was so excited to go on a walk before we went into town. I watched him put together a day pack and got a little worried when I saw him packing a rope and quickdraws (wondering why we would need all of this equipment for a short walk), but I didn't say anything until I saw him putting the ice-axe in the backpack...I asked "why do we need an ice-axe?"...and he replied (these were his exact words), "well it is really the only thing that can save us." At that point I realized that his whole plan was to summit Teewinot, the second to largest Teton, and he had forgotten to inform me. We didn't have any other plans for that day, and Oliver promised me that we could take breaks so we headed for the top. We went to about 11000 feet elevation, until Oliver fell waist deep in snow and then decided to come back in August. Some other fun things that we did include: eating hamburgers at Billy's, taking a ferry accross Jenny Lake, hiking to Hidden Falls, hiking to Inspiration Point, hiking to Guide Wall, walking around downtown, seeing a movie, driving around looking at real estate, listening to Madeleine Peyroux and Keren Ann the whole weekend, and taking a nap in the parking lot of Jackson Hole Ski Resort. Oliver enjoyed: analyzing rocks and telling me what kind of rocks they were (ie. Sandstone, Granite, etc.), scoping out potential climbs, spotting Moose, and staring at the mountains (he woke up early one morning and looked at the mountains for 2 hours straight - literally - you would think that we were from Iowa).

These were our 5 Star Accomodations; with all the ammenities that one could imagine.

More pictures are on our Flickr account, which should be up and running shortly!

Nice accomadations! Beautiful pictures and mountains! I can't believe my little sis who hated to go on walks is now mountain climber extrodainaire! I love Jenny Lake! Bruce and I would love to float the canyon too! Let's plan it sometime in late July in conjunction with Bingham Family Reunion and maybe I can talk Bruce into going back to Utah! It is worth a try!

I LOVE Jackson. I'm so jealous! We went there right after we got married. Jackson is an awesome resort to ski. Next time you're there and want to splurge, get a facial at the Rusty Parot in town (it also has a fantastic food).

I LOVE weekend getaways!!! Enjoy them now b/c once you have kiddies... they are rare! Jackson Hole is so pretty. Great little trip! I also am freaking out over all the places you two have been. That list is amazing!! How was Luxomberg? I know I spelled it wrong... BUT some of my good friends may be moving there. She tells me all these awesome things about it. Anyway......

Amazing. I love to do hikes and high adventure, really. I hope you and Oz will go with me on the Francis Peak trail and Lisa and I also want to do the Bonneville Shoreline Trail to the castle this summer.
