La Mezquita de Cordoba

I walked into La Mezquita in Cordoba and I was blown away, complete awe. I feel like that rarely happens in the U.S.

La Mezquita was originally a Christian church which was torn down, turned into a Moorish mosque, and then reconverted into a Catholic cathedral. Each wave of invasion and conquering left it's mark.

The photos are super grainy because it was a very low-light situation. I can't get enough of those arches.

Absolutely one of the memorable spaces I have ever encountered. And I was all alone - which was really surreal. Nobody in my study-abroad group wanted to go so I took the bus from Grananda and spent the day in Cordoba.
